Presentations

“Mantle deformation during the rift-to-drift transition at magma-poor margins” given at UTIG on 28 February 2023.

“Crustal Formation and Recycling along Venus’s Rifts” at LPSC2024

Oral presentation given at the 55th Lunar and Planetary Science Conference, in which I argue that the addition of new crust along Venus’ rifts may lead to corona development and localized crustal recycling.

“THUNDER Mission Concept” for UTIG Planetary Geoscience Group:

For the summer of 2023, I participated in JPL’s Planetary Science Summer School, a course dedicated to mission design. As a science objective lead and thermal control systems engineer, I got to work with other early-career scientists and engineers as well as JPL’s TeamX to design the THUNDER mission concept. THUNDER is a Titan orbiter with a focus on geology and geophysics. The goal is to determine how hydrocarbons are transported through Titan’s ice shell, characterize its hydrological system, and to determine if Titan’s methane inventory has decreased through geological time.

“Earth Works: Arizona Geology” at El Mirage Library — Summer 2022:
I was invited to give a public science talk at El Mirage Library in El Mirage, a city in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area, along with colleague and friend Sarah Patterson. The talk was ~40 minutes long with a question and answer session at the end, during which I gave a 4.5 billion year history of Arizona, evidence for it in the local geology, and why it matters to Arizona residents. Here I’ve uploaded the PDF version of my half of the talk, but in the future I’d like to record myself giving the full presentation, complete with animations.
